This former farm lies in the hills of the regional, nature ‘Parc des Causses du Quercy’ just eight minutes from the vibrant market town of Cahors in the Lot region of southwest France. There are two former farm buildings available as gites for rent with an 11x5m saltwater swimming pool and outstanding views.

We offer you a comfortable place to relax and explore this wonderful area of France. In either gite you will quickly unwind from the stresses of modern life in the peaceful surroundings of the large garden and enjoy magnificent views from the 2.5 acre hilltop gardens where a gentle breeze keeps you cool in the summer sun. Relax and enjoy a glass of rosé whilst watching the spectacular sunsets over the surrounding hills.

New for 2009 - relax under the pergola on either gite terrace

An 11x5m saltwater swimming pool with large surrounding sun terrace takes advantage of the amazing views across the valley and hills. The pool has roman steps at the end of one side to provide easy access - these are prefect for sitting on to keep cool and marvel at the stunning views. The pool and terrace are shared with the owners and second gite; it is sited a short distance from the buildings so that noise from the pool does not disturb others.

The large 2.5 acre child-friendly garden includes private secluded areas in which to relax and a children's area with swings for children aged 3-8. It is not unusual to see wild deer and rabbits in the morning, swallows swooping near the pool in the evening and birds of prey soaring high above. There are many walks nearby with the closest passing our entrance. In the spring the garden is alive with colour from orchids in the grass to the wonderfully scented lilacs and herbs.

Nestled between the Dordogne and Lot valleys, and just ten minutes off the motorway, we are perfectly placed for visiting sites in both areas as well as the lively market town of Cahors.

The owners rented many gites before deciding on this beautiful spot and learnt alot about how to and not equip a holiday gite. The new beds with pocket-sprung mattresses are very popular as is the crisp white bedlinen. Famous for its wines and delicacies, such as foie gras, goats cheese, duck and truffles, the Lot offers some amazing restaurants and vineyards where you can sample these local gastronomic treasures. The ancient and famous Lalbenque truffle market opens for the winter on the first Tuesday of December.
