The world famous truffle market at Lalbenque was officially opened for the season on Tuesday, 4th December 2007. Held every Tuesday morning from December to March, this market is prized amongst chefs worldwide for the quality of its truffles. Dressed in the traditional black cloaks and hats, officials welcome the traders; a bell is then rung to signal the start of the market, and season, at 1430 hours.
